IMPORTANCE OF POWER ELECTRONICS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY APPLICATIONS

On Wednesday, 26^th May, 2021, the Department of Engineering Technology organized a webinar on "Importance of Power Electronics in Renewable Energy Applications." Guest speaker, Dr Sohaib Tahir, Assistant Professor at COMSATS University Islamabad's Sahiwal Campus, discussed the significance of power electronics for renewable energy. He highlighted the use of Genetic Algorithms to optimize renewable energy systems and promote global green energy. As a member of the Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Centre (PEREC), Xi'an Jiao tong University, he has undertaken extensive research on this topic. Furthermore, he offered his expertise in implementing power electronics in renewable energy systems.
