COMMUNITY AWARENESS SEMINAR

The University of Faisalabad Nutrition Society organized Obesity free Awareness Camp in collaboration with Madinah Teaching Hospitals (MTH). More than 100 patients identified were diagnosed with various health complications regarding obesity. The students of Dietetics & Nutritional Sciences along with the MTH doctor gave them solutions regarding their problems. Hormonal imbalance is prominent risk factor for obesity. awareness camp was the excellent activity for educating people about prevention and treatment of 

adiposity.

 

     

 

 

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT WORKSHOP

The University of Faisalabad has signed MoUs with Rescue 1122 to conduct Program life saver awrness workshop to educate students. Department of Optometry conducted a workshop on Basic Life Support (BLS) in collaboration with Rescue 1122 at The University of Faisalabad. Mr Muzammil Hussain, Senior Instructor from Rescue 1122 along with other officers conducted this workshop. Students learned about the Pakistan life saver Program program that educates about two major threats of life; Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and bleeding control and its management. The team practically performed CPR and allowed students to learn CPR by live practice. They encouraged students to not only keep this information to themselves but also educate people around them to help save people's lives by knowing general techniques.

  

 

FREE SKIN CAMP

Free Medical Camp by Department of Dermatology Department of Dermatology, Madinah Teaching Hospital in collaboration with The University of Faisalabad and Society for Skin Care organized a Free Medical Camp at Government Special National Education Pakistan. Under the supervision of Head of Department Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid, students of Dermal sciences participated in the camp. It aimed to develop professional skills in students by providing them clinical exposure.

 

    

 

FIRST INTERNATIONAL DERMAL CONFERENCE

Department of Dermatology, in collaboration with ORIC, TUF organized first 1st International Conference on Dermal Sciences in The University of Faisalabad on November 20, 2021. The conference was on the theme of “Psychosocial Impact of Colorism” which was first ever of its kind in Pakistan. It was a hybrid conference participated by Dermatologists, Psychologists and Researchers from seven different countries including Pakistan, USA, China, India, Nigeria, Indonesia and Malaysia. The experts presented their research work to highlight the Psychosocial Impact of Colorism. They told that, prejudice based on color of skin or preference of people with lighter skin over darker ones is Colorism, which results in several psychological and social issues. This emerging problem is further causing self identity crisis and people with darker tone being a victim of traumatic stress, initiate the use of unethical treatments for the sake of fair skin tone or a better life.

 

    

 

SEMINAR “DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AMONG YOUTH IN COLLABORATION

Department of Community Medicine, UMDC in collaboration with Anjuman-e-Insdad Manshiat and Anti Narcotics Force Punjab arranged an awareness seminar on “Drug abuse prevention among youth” in Health Sciences wing of TUF. Main objective of the event was to educate students about the harmful effects of drug addiction on health as well as their personal and professional life. Guest speaker, Prof Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Head of Psychiatry Department at DHQ Hospital Faisalabad, addressing the students warned them that this menace of drug addiction was destroying our youth. He highlighted the sad reality of the rising trend of drug addiction among college and university students. Drug addiction is increasing among the Pakistani female population as well, he further added. We need to engage our youth in healthy co-curricular and sports activities to prevent them from indulging in drug addiction. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Dr AG Rehan, Medical Director, Madinah Teaching Hospital, said that parents should build strong and friendly bonding with their siblings to help them in their stressful situations, which is one of the common reasons for drug use initiation. He further added that a safe academic institutions environment and strong family system together can help in uplifting this menace from our society. General Sectary of the Anjuman Insadad-e Manshiat, Mr Muhammad Anwaar and Medical Social Worker, Mr Amir Pervaiz also addressed the students and encouraged them to utilize their energies in social welfare and healthy activities rather than becoming a drug addicts.

FREE MEDICAL CAMP BY UNIVERSITY OF FAISALABAD IN COLLABORATION WITH DISTRICT HEALTH DEPARTMENT DERA GHAZI KHAN

Free medical camp has been arranged by The University of Faisalabad to provide the free medical treatment to the people of Tonsa Shareef in collaboration with Health Department Dera Ghazi Kahn. Cure to more than 600 patents has been provided with free medicine.

Madinah Teaching Hospital under the auspices of Madinah Foundation organized a free medical and dental camp at district jail Mandi Bahauddin. Under the supervision of Prof Dr Farrukh Imran, a team of expert a including ENT, Medicine, Skin and dental specialists treated more than 300 patients. Patients were also given medicine free of cost. Superintendent Jail appreciated the philanthropic activities of Madinah Foundation particular in health sector.

Blood Drives are a life-saving tradition at TUF and are conducted every year by blood donor society.
