Dengue Awareness Campaign at different Schools

Dengue fever is a vector borne disease spread by the bite of the mosquito infected with the dengue Virus. Dengue is now endemic in Pakistan and Monsoon Season is a time when maximum number of cases are reported every year in Pakistan.

Department of Community Medicine and students of The University of Faisalabad visited Govt Girls High School, Sargodha Road, University Cambridge School and in SOS village. They educated the students about the symptoms of the dengue fever and dengue hemorrhagic fever. They guided them about various measures to protect themselves from dengue mosquito bite and ways to keep their environment clean to stop dengue mosquito larva breeding. Community Medicine team guided the audience that they should not use Aspirin and Brufen tablet if they suspect dengue fever symptoms. These two tablets increase the bleeding tendency and can worsen the condition. There is no treatment available for dengue fever, our only option is prevention. Let’s join hands to curb this menace.
