MALARIA AWARENESS SESSION

The Department of Community Medicine at UMDC hosted a "Malaria Awareness Session" for female University of Faisalabad staff. This session was part of the World Malaria Day 2021 festivities. The primary goal was to raise awareness of the disease among those in the community who were most impacted by it and strengthen ties between academics and the community. Dr Sumera Riaz, Associate Professor of Community Medicine, spoke on occasion and taught the university's female employees about malaria's dangers and devastating effects. Participants were told about malaria symptoms and basic precautionary steps to minimise mosquito bites using visual pictures. They were advised to maintain the surroundings around their homes clean and clear of polluted stagnant water, which serves as a perfect breeding ground for mosquitoes.
