SEMINAR “DRUG ABUSE PREVENTION AMONG YOUTH”
In partnership with Anjuman-e-Insdad Manshiat and the Anti-Narcotics Force Punjab, the Department of Community Medicine at UMDC, organized a seminar on "Drug Abuse Prevention among Youth" in the Health Sciences wing of TUF on 30th June, 2021. The event's main goal was to educate students about the negative impacts of drug addiction on their health and lives. Guest speaker Prof Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, Head Pakistani Psychiatry Department at DHQ Hospital Faisalabad explained reasons of drug addiction among college and university students.
Prof Dr AG Rehan, Medical Director, Madinah Teaching Hospital, spoke on seminar, saying that parents should form strong and friendly bonds with their children to help them cope with stressful situations, which is one of the most common reasons for drug use initiation. Mr Muhammad Anwar, General Secretary of the Anjuman Insadad-e Manshiat, and Mr Amir Pervaiz, Medical Social Worker, encouraged students to focus their efforts on social welfare and healthy activities instead of becoming a drug addict.
