OUR COLLABORATION WITH NGOs
The University of Faisalabad is educational Project of Madina Foundation to cater to the educational and technological needs emerging in the progressive scenario of the country in general and surrounding areas in particular, with a missionary spirit, commitment and enthusiasm in line with the vision of its founders. University students are encouraged to consider and reflect on their own social responsibilities through different civic activities like organizing mass marriage programs, providing rehabilitation for flood affected people, arranging health facilities and blood for patients, and finance for less privileged students. TUF has also signed a MOU with Punjab Red Crescent, SOS. University various Societies are fully functional and are playing their roles effectively in performing community.
SHORT COMPUTER COURSE FOR VISUALLY IMPAIRED STUDENTS
In collaboration with Pakistan Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF), The University of Faisalabad (TUF) has arranged one month free-of-charge course on “Basic Computer skills” for visually impaired persons. A considerable number of students from different region of Pakistan participated in this course. The Centre of Collective Activity (CCA) at The university of Faisalabad (TUF) has organized the Certificate Distribution Ceremony after Completion of course. In particular, the PATF Chairman, Mr. Muhammad Shahbaz, especially thanked to the TUF administration for facilitating the Visually Impaired students. Dr Majid Hussain (HoD of Computational Sciences) addressed to the participants and encourage the “especial students” in their continued efforts to develop their skills. Prof Dr Khaleeq ur Rahman highlighted the constructive role of TUF in such kind of activities and he emphasized that other Higher Educational Institutes (HEIs) should play a vital role in facilitating “special people” by providing supports to such Foundation.
FREE MEDICAL AND DENTAL CAMP WAS ARRANGED AT ADIALA JAIL RAWALPINDI
Madinah Teaching Hospital under the auspices of Madinah Foundation organized a free medical and dental camp at district jail Mandi Bahauddin. Under the supervision of Prof Dr Farrukh Imran, a team of expert doctors including ENT, Medicine, Skin and dental specialists treated more than 300 patients. These patients were also given medicine free of cost. Mr Naveed Iqbal, Additional District & Sessions Judge visited the camp and he appreciated the philanthropic activities of Madinah Foundation particular in health sector.
“DENGUE AWARENESS”
Due to escalating cases of dengue fever in Punjab and throughout Pakistan, Dengue Awareness Seminar was organized in The University of Faisalabad by Department of Community Medicine host a seminar to educate students regarding prevent measures against dengue. Dr Sumera Riaz, Assistant Professor Community Medicine highlighted the importance of preventive measures against dengue fever. She informed the students that by adopting simple preventive measures, we can help Government in decreasing the disease prevalence. Dr Uzma Sagheer informed participants about severity of dengue fever and its current situation in Pakistan. University students showed enthusiasm in playing their role as responsible citizen by adopting preventive measures.
VISIT TO SOS CHILDREN'S VILLAGE
Department of Dermatology University of Faisalabad in collaboration Madinah Teaching Hospital visited SOS Children's Village Faisalabad Chak No 199/RB. Head of Department Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid supervised the team of Post Graduate Residents of Madinah Teaching Hospital and students of the Department of Dermal Sciences. They examined about 100 students, took their complete history, and provided medical care. Free medicines were distributed among the students and faculty members. students were also educated about proper handwashing techniques and hygienic measures.
VISIT TO GOVERNMENT SPECIAL NATIONAL EDUCATION PAKISTAN
Department of Dermatology Department of Dermatology, Madinah Teaching Hospital in collaboration with The University of Faisalabad and Society for Skin Care visit Government Special National Education Pakistan under the supervision of Head of Department Prof Dr Tanzeela Khalid to develop professional skills in students by providing them clinical exposure.
MASS MARRIAGES
University host thrice in year mass marriage events and provide their grounds and all the facilities for mass marriages to facilitate community in the surrounding. The marriage expenditure was borne by Madinah Foundation.
WASTE MANAGEMENT OF PLASTIC
students from Design and Interior initiated “No Plastic Campaign”. they are recycling the plastic and convert it into globes and patterns. Theses decorations are used in University events and distribution to near school.
FOOD BANK (STEP TO OVERCOME HUNGER)
The University of Faisalabad Food Bank is a voluntary project run by Society of Nutritional and Dietetics students. If students in the café are full after eating, they are asked to place their food in a designated area.
